Back To The Beach

We are back to school the beach! As I wrote last month, I Am Titanium, and I'm ready to wreck the 2015-2016 academic year.

I'm slowly entering into the real world, and I know....it's terrifying. We would wear our high heels and kick its butt.

I decided to take a theme for the academic year and I was inspired by a burn survivor woman I admire. She's Stephanie Nielson. She once had this theme for her children, and I'm taking it.

"Remove any of your fear with faith, trust in the power of God to guide you."

And this excerpt is taken from here.
This theme is perfect for the year.

Happy New Academic Year

Ps. I love this photo above. Perfect for students like me.

And you guys really know how much I love Lou Diamond Phillips when he acted as Ritchie Valens in the La Bamba movie.

Kelewele Date With Marietta (28/08/15): #MDBackToSchool

Good morning! Today's post is coming live to you at 3am. Yes! Very early.

It's a short one too. Without wasting much time, let's get started.

For me, school reopens tomorrow, and we have been in the Back to School mood for the whole month of August. I gave a little advice to all incoming freshers to survive school, and speaking of how to survive school, a post about that is coming right up.

We continued to talk about Best Tech Accessories for back to school,( my favourite back to school post),New School Year resolutions, Instagram accounts to follow if you are coming to Winneba as a student (Akwaaba, Akwaaba!), beauty must haves suggestions and what's great but not so great about going back to school. All back to school posts can be found here.

The long vacation was better than the last, and I am looking forward to better long vacs in the coming years.

One day, I was coming back from town and I boarded a tro-tro, when an old man got up to preach about Repentance. After that, he shared a devotional guide for everyone in the bus, including the driver and his 'mate' (conductor). It's called Essential Connection:Devotion for students March 2015. Even though, it's old, I like the way you can make it as a gospel journal about Jesus Christ. It has a whole lot of space for writing in it, including pages for writing what you learnt on Sundays at church. It is very organized.

That's it for today's #keleweledate. Hope to see you in my next post.

(Gasps) Do you know my blog would two years old next month? (Gasps). I'm soooo excited!

To all students, all the best in school, yeah.

Great But Not-So-Great

Very soon, the phrase "Back To School" would be in the air to the extent that, you can smell it. Malls, banks, markets, especially Makola, would be smelling of Back to School.

I am excited to go back to school. Just because of learning new theories and technology, without the examination part. Hahahaha. Seriously, I can't by pass that.

Reasons Why Back to School Is Great

I'll see my friends again. Some of us have faithful friends, crazy friends, motivational friends and all kinds. It's exciting to see my friends again.

New clothes. You get all Excited to buy new Back to School clothes and see how some fake people buy second hand clothing and tell you they ordered it from the Taylor Swift collection. Like I care!

You're being free of your parents. We love you, parents but we got to learn to be independent.
The first week of classes is all about Introduction to the course outline. Which last for about an hour or if lucky, less.

New roommates to stay awake with, and gossip. Good gossip!

We get to countdown to Christmas and look forward to it with all of its fooood.

We get to make new friends. From your department, other departments and freshers.

We get to hear the long vac stories. This is where people master their lying skills. Add that to your CV , liars.

We get to study new interesting courses. We want to learn new things.

Beach Days. Yoo-hoo! Lucky you, if you're closer to the beach. If not, you are allowed to get jealous.

Sports. There are many sporting events like inter-hall games, cross country etc.

Reasons Why Back to School is Not-So-Great

Quizzes. They scare us, especially the impromptu ones.

Weekend projects. For me, weekends are the times I unwind and have some me-time because they are very important to me, practise my homemaking skills, hobbies, go home if I crave for my mother's cooking, be with friends and loved ones. If you give me assignments that take my weekend time, I'll feel like crying.

Assignments to be submitted in less than 24 hours. Hmmm

Discouragements. It is easy to give up and it is usual to meet lectures and T.As who tell you, you are not worth it.

Stress. This is common in every student's life

Packing and moving in. I know! Some of us use days for packing and arranging and ugh!

What do you like about Back to School?

What don't you like about Back to School ?

Making The Grade

Good morning from the capital city of Ghana. I hope you are having a lovely morning. We are in the back to school mood. Some are already gone and we thank them for making our long break a memorable one.

We are going back to school any day from today and one of our main goal is to make the grade. Grades better than last year, grades better than last semester, grades better than ever, though, the higher you go, the more we need to use our minds, and the higher the course matures. That's one of our new school year resolution; to make the grade.

Another new school year resolution we love to make is to improve upon our networking skills. Meeting mentors, career counselors, internships, shaking hands with potential heads, updating our LinkedIn profile etc.

A personal resolution I'm making. Make the beach your best friend. And I'm so proud of myself, I fulfill this resolution every single year. My school is closer to the beach, so how hard can it be? Just make sure to plan and manage your time effectively.

This post is an outfit post (a fashion post) for back to school. Make the grade with turtleneck top, plaid skirt and ankle boots! Don't forget to make school adventurous and study HAARRDDEERR so that you can rule the world positively.

All the best to all tertiary institution students!

What is your new school year resolution? And when are you going back to school?

Cool Nail Design Ideas

Hey there! I hope you are all fantastic this morning. The weather is really changeable. One minute it is sunny, the next minute, you are searching for a cardigan.

This is another back to school post and we are looking at ways we can rock our nails. We buy beautiful school supplies but our nails have no flawless flair. I am not a big fan of decorating my nails. I just pick up my nail polish, nail file and just paint my nails. But, I have made a....a.....what? Resolution? Decision? Challenge? to get a nail art design one of these days.

Since I am crazy about Pinterest, I have created a board; Nail It on my Pinterest page. And from the Pinterest inspiration, below are cool nail designs you can rock this year, for back to school.

Nail Art 1

Nail Art 2

Nail Art 3

Nail Art 4

Nail Art 5

How are you wearing your nails this year?

Are you going plain like me (Oh please, Marietta, be a girly girl for once!) or you just got an inspiration from this post?

Wake Up With Me In Winneba (School Reopens)

Hi! Good morning from Winneba. School reopened days ago and right now, I'm in school. I woke up thinking I was at home, but turned and saw many roommate on her bed, pressing her phone, probably whatsapping. Yeah right, I'm in school and most importantly, in another town.

School just reopened, so we are kinda relaxed. The only stress we have now is registration (another headache).

Winneba is a small town in the central region of Ghana and anytime, I'm in Winneba, it's another life adventure. I call it SMALL TOWN LIFE.. I have amazing friends and annoying ones.( Of course, I appreciate the annoying ones).

Anyway, all the best in your new semester darlings, and every morning, wake up with me in Winneba.
Stay sweet!
