Keeping it real since One Christmas Day

Merry Christmas y’all.

Ooh, I can’t hide my excitement. It’s Christmas Day people! And my soul feels beautiful.๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿน๐Ÿฐ

I remember when I was a little girl and wanted to grow up fast, buy more high heels and wear my hair, so that the wind can blow it.

Now I wish to be 12, or even 9.

Living your life as a young adult is not as easy as we see it when we are young. It has a whole lot of things we should warn our younger selves of. I think I need to write a book about being a young adult.

I was wide awake till I heard my phone ring. I answered it and heard “Happy Birthday, Silly!” I glanced at the clock and saw the time, 12:00am.

OMG! It’s two things: My Birthday! And it’s Christmas!

Exactly two years ago, I was on the search for a woman. A woman I have not met or seen before. I was wondering whether I could find her. I have seen a piece of her in my mother, so I had a fair idea of what part of her would look like.

It’s been two years and I realized, I am only 25% there. I wonder if it is a total waste of time.

But I am slowly learning that finding someone is not going to be an easy journey. You might get flat tyres, you’ll get hungry, eat bad food and get running stomach (diarrhoea), run out of money, meet good strangers and bad strangers. Finding someone is muddy, rough, scary, fun and overwhelming.

I thought of asking people to help me find that woman. Yes, I asked family, friends (my good friends), the church, the community, the workplace, books, the stars in the sky, the past and the present. I wanted to ask the future but it would spoil the fun.

I asked God. You know our Heavenly Father already. He has things in place to help me find her, but I will have to do my part. It’s like asking God to have sufficient money. He won’t send you gold and money, but He would give you strength and wisdom to work hard to earn money.

The woman I am looking for is the woman I want to be, and I am only 25% there.

I hope to find her.

Life has been fun and overwhelming and heartbreaking, but we are still surviving.

Yes, we are.

I have been keeping it real since the day I was born.

I feel like I am writing a post all about myself.

Hehehe xx.

That is the power of a personal blog.

How is your Christmas day?

O Christmas Tree

I do not know what's with me and Christmas ornaments and decorations. One of the Christmas stuff I adore is the Christmas tree. Funnily enough, I have not owned one before. So sad!

But..... I have made a mental promise to myself that, one day, I'll have one. I haven't thought of how I'll get it, whether, I'll cut one down, or buy one or it would be a gift from a friend, I'll definitely get one.

The only real tree I got and the farthest Daddy could go, was the one I had pasted with the Christmas wallpapers.

Like seriously!

Anyway, I love Christmas trees, whether it is evergreen one or the snow white one or even the pink one. I believe the Christmas tree symbolizes eternal life. The baby that was born in the stable brought eternal life. Having a tree, hung with lights, ornaments and presents all around it with your loved ones and the Christmas story is the best Christmas.

O Tannenbaum/ O Christmas tree is the carol associated with that glorious tree. I learnt it is a traditional German carol but the author of the lyrics and the composer are unknown. Whoever he/she is / they are, thanks for such a beautiful carol. The tradition of bringing a tree inside and decorating it with all the beautiful ornaments was started in the 19th Century (way long time ago!)

I always have the habit of taking a picture by a decorated Christmas tree. Isn't it beautiful?

O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
How steadfast are thy branches
Your boughs are green in summer's clime
And through the snows of winter time

O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
How lovely are thy branches
Not only in the summer time
But even in winter is thy prime

O Christmas tree
O Christmas tree
Your boughs can teach a lesson
That constant faith and hope sublime
Lends strength and comfort through all time

Do you love Christmas trees?

Which colour is your favourite?

Merry Christmas lovely people xxoo

The Christmas Anthem

The Christmas Anthem

Source

Salute the happy morn
Where the verses and chorus sing
Salute the happy morn
And let the angels announce His birth
Rise up, O children of God
Let’s march to the holy ground
Where He lies with straw
And let’s salute Him

Salute the happy morn
Glory to the new born king
Everyone, rise up and salute the king
He’s arrived with His salvation
To free us from our bondage
Good tidings we hear from glory
Hear the golden harps being played
And let’s bow down

Salute the happy morn
Say it everywhere, in the air
Christ is born in Bethlehem
Ring the bells, ring the bells!
Christmas begins tonight
Let’s shush right now
And let Him sleep

Attention! And Salute!

Wake Up With Me In Winneba (Easter Break)

Hello everyone. How was your Easter? I know I am so late in updating you on how I celebrated my Easter, but I've been kind of tight this week. But don't worry, let's have a chat.
This Easter break helped me to unwind and clear my mind for more complex data structures and algorithm in the future. It also made me reunite with friends who were far away and those I've met for a long time since.

On Good Friday, my church had a devotional and after, we went to play soccer. After the soccer, we had socials at the beach, played games, swam, ate, danced and had fun.

The next day, I had a wedding to attend. An Easter Wedding. That day, as I woke up, I thought of the bride, I thought 'Is she asleep? Can she even sleep at all?' We went all the way to somewhere near Cape Coast to honour the invitation.

Jesus Christ rose on Sunday and He lives. We went to church to remember His resurrection. I went back to Accra to be with my family.

Easter Monday, we visited the West Hills Mall and did some little shopping. (Read Window Shopping)

Next on the train is for me to look forward to Simpa's Aboakyir Festival and the long vacation. I'm about to start writing my long vac goals and see what's up?

I thank my Heavenly Father for sending His son to die for us all. May His name be praised.

How was your Easter Break?

Stay sweet!!!

WENT NAKED AND BLED

Today is Good Friday, so let's share some poetry.
Enjoy your day
WENT NAKED AND BLED

For my sake,

He went naked

For your troubles

He bled

For his sickness

He was pierced with nails

For her tribulation

He wore the crown of thorns

For our sins

He drank bitter vinegar

For their evil bondage

He died to release us and wash us

#BecauseHeLives

Easter is just around the corner and this year, I'm super excited for it. I don't know why but I've come to love what our Saviour did for us more. It's amazing, wonderful, bittersweet........Actually, I can't find the right word for what He did.

Easter is going to be fantastic. Good Friday would be the time I'll get to reflect on what the Saviour did for me, Saturday, I have a wedding to attend, and Sunday, we would rejoice and go to church to remember His atonement and resurrection. Monday is time to be with loved ones and have fun.

I know Jesus is the Christ. He loves each of us, cares for us. The pain He went through, I cannot imagine. I believe He died for us, to serve all mankind and what He went through cannot be compared to anything. He died, the Great Redeemer died. But He lives and #BecauseHeLives, we are blessed. #BecauseHeLives, He is our Saviour and Redeemer. He lives today as our Lord, our Redeemer, Friend, our everything. We look to Him as  the only source of our salvation.

Have a Happy Easter Weekend!!!

Stay Sweet

INNOCENT WOUNDS

So, since Easter is approaching soon, like very soon, i just want to share my Easter poem with you.
Happy Easter

                      INNOCENT WOUNDS

Sin floated over my head
I needed to pay, to pay for those sins
A holy royal came down, for I heard
The subjects honouring in those scenes
Oh Blessed Lamb, in His atoning grief
Suffered the thorns, and nails and cross and spear
Became my rescue and sweet relief
The pain He bore, I’m supposed to bear
Innocent wounds, the mocking crowns of thorn
Though with the loving, conscious will
He had his clothes, hands and feet torn
The cruel cross of Calvary, I was to fill
Oh happy day, happy day

When The Christ washed my sins away.
