Movie Review: It’s Okay That’s Love (Blogtober Day 16)

Everyone’s prone to mental breakdown if they suffer a traumatic experience, but everyone just acts like that would never happen to them.

Hello world and happy Monday. I hope you had a great weekend.

Today’s post is a movie review and it’s been long since I wrote any sort of review on the blog, even a movie review. I have for you a movie review and it’s a seasonal movie containing only 16 episodes. I love seasonal movies like that with less than five seasons and few episodes. The only long seasonal movie I enjoyed was Pretty Little Liars, and this movie had only one season.

Never judge a movie by its promotional ads. It is metaphorical

So, this drama series is K-Drama (Korean Series) and since my teenage years I have always been a big fan of Korean series and movies, so I was pretty excited to binge watch this. Sorry for so many conjunctions in that line, lolz xx.

Let’s begin with the review.

 I finished watching this Korean drama series about two weeks ago and I am watching it again with mum. Even though the cases were extreme, I managed to find humour in it. All the characters had some sort of mental and emotional problems and that alone opened my eyes to issues like this. It taught me that no matter where we find ourselves, someone somewhere might be experiencing mental or emotional problems due to experiences in the past.

A perfect example is a character named Jang Jae Yul, who was a writer and a radio DJ. The return of his brother from jail made him to start experiencing such mental breakdown. He was invited to a talk show and he was on the panel with a Psychiatrist lady doctor. They weren’t in good terms from the beginning. The funny part was when they became housemates for some months and soon, there was a shooting star of feelings. Through their relationship journey, they were able to fight and cure their emotional and mental problems.

Everyone else in the movie had other disorders that were not easily identified unless they were in a situation that made them exhibit those symptoms.

Know that someone out there is praying 24 hours a day, just for you.

I enjoyed the movie a lot and learnt a lot. I will recommend this movie to anyone.

My favourite OST (Original Soundtrack) was Hero by Family of the Year.

Dreaming of You ft Selena Quintanilla

Hey world!

How is your day/night/whatever time you are reading this?

Last month or so, I watched Selena. Selena is a 1997 biographical film about the life and career of the late singer, Selena Quintanilla-Perez. Jennifer Lopez played the role of Selena in the movie.

After I watched La Bamba, I read that there was a similar movie like it, and thus how I got the movie, Selena.

I used the handkerchief as I watched the ending. It made me cry like how the La Bamba movie made me cry. I do not know why old movies with sentimental endings make me cry. I am yet to watch a modern movie with sentimental endings like this.

Over the Rainbow is one of the songs I recognized in the movie and We Belong Together, a song I heard and learnt from the La Bambamovie. The song I fell in love with and added to my playlist was Dreaming of You. It’s a very romantic song to play before you go to bed.

La Bamba and Selena have a lot in common. The characters were both full of life and made happiness their main priority, apart from their music career. They also died when they were rising in the music industry and were very young. They are both true stories. The only difference was, Ritchie was killed in a plane crash while Selena was shot by her best friend.

They both end in a very sad way, but they teach us one thing. They made the people around them happy.

Look for La Bamba and Selena to watch and thank me later.

Movie Review: Like Stars on Earth

Hello. Good morning! It’s a beautiful day and although, I’m not sure of the weather forecast and the sun is not yet out, I hope the sun shines (not so hard, lol), so that the light can enter my room to make it feel lively.

Today, I bring to you a movie review. I don’t remember the last time I wrote a movie review on the blog since La Bamba. I normally do novel reviews, but hey, no problem. Today is a movie review of a movie I watched recently, and it's from Bollywood. I’m probably the last one to watch this, but I have watched it more than five times already since the Easter Break.

Alright, the movie is Like Stars on Earth, originally titles Taare Zameen Par. It is a movie of a boy, Ishaan Awasthi, played by Darsheel. He is what we call, a student with special needs.

Ishaan Awasthi is an eight year old boy who had academic problems and no one understood him. He was always compared to his big brother his big brother, Yohaan (Yohaan loved his brother so much), who excels well in school. Apart from his academic failure, he has poor grooming skills. No one understood him, and his father thought he was just been lazy and so, he was sent to a boarding school.

Depression and loneliness sets in.

There, he made a friend, Rajan and met a teacher, Ram Shankar Nikumbh, played by Aamir Khan, who helped him to change his academic performance to a better one.

Amazingly, Ishaan has a great talent for art. His imagination might be absurd but he turns them into art.

Reasons why I love the movie+ Lessons I learnt

The movie is great for teachers to know that, every child is special no matter how dumb he is

Ishaan, though, had lots of problems, has a huge sense of humour

Success is not defined by being a doctor or engineer. You can be whatever you want, success is yours.

I found out about famous people who suffered from dyslexia

There are many students with special needs. They special needs are not physical only. You have to be patient with such students.

Develop your talent and embrace it.

Brothers love you, not matter what you are.

Holiday Movie Review: It’s A Wonderful Life

I decided to watch It’s a Wonderful Life since every foreign friend of mine always talks about it during the holidays. I decided to watch it. What is so special about this Christmas movie? Is it a movie that will make me use my handkerchief? I gave it a try to watch.

After writing a paper on Wednesday, the following day, after doing some washing, I sat down on my desk and reluctantly watched the movie.

The movie stars James (Jimmy) Stewart as George Bailey, Donna Reed as Mary Hatch who later becomes Mary Hatch Bailey and Henry Travers as Angel Clarence Odbody.

It’s a Wonderful Life is a 1946 American Christmas fantasy Drama film and it is about a man who has given up most of his dreams in order to help others. His suicide plans brought the intervention of the Guardian angel, Clarence. The Guardian angel shows George all the lives he has changed and how different life would have been if he hadn’t been born.

I enjoyed the movie. It was not bad at all. I thought I wouldn’t wipe some tears but I did.

One lesson I learnt from the movie is, no matter how small you are, no matter how insignificant you are, you make differences in people’s lives.

I love the ending so much, I played it several times and smiled and pondered it in my heart.

I know my calling in life, and I have to use it.

I will give the movie 4.5 out of 5.

I recently watched about one sweet musician called Richard Steven Valenzuela (Popularly known as Ritchie Valens) who used to do the Chicano rock and roll music. He was a singer songwriter and a guitarist.

My mum once told me the story of this guy. A movie was made to tell his story. The time she told me the story, she had forgotten the title, but said, he made a song for his sweetheart, Donna.

Lou Diamond Phillips played the role of Ritchie in the biographical movie, La Bamba. At the beginning of the film, there was a scene, like a memory, which turned out to be a nightmare for him throughout the movie. Some teenage boys were playing basketball in a school yard. Above them, two airplanes collided, falling into the school yard and killing one of his friends. This made him have the fear of boarding an aeroplane.

Ritchie was a cute 17 year old guy who loved to play the guitar, was full of life, smiles and stayed with his mother, half brother Bob and other siblings. He loved a girl called Donna at school, but her father was having issues with their relationship. He wrote a song for her with the title 'Donna '. They were so cute together.
Unfortunately, because he became famous (which made him drop out of school ), he had to be taking planes in order to go on tour. On that fateful night of February 3rd, 1959, when he went for the Winter Dance Party tour with some other musicians, he boarded a plane with them, during a storm (he even had the flu). The plane had a crash, leaving no survivors. That's when my heart broke, that's when music died. He was just 17!!!!!

I wish to tell you the whole story from A-Z, with every detail, but watching it would be better. If you're a little emotional like me, you better hold a handkerchief, because you would shed some tears.
I loved the love-hate -jealousy relationship between Bob and Ritchie. Though their mom was more on Ritchie's side than Bob. (Because Bob was a drunkard, irresponsible and snatched away Ritchie's first girlfriend, Rosie, from him), there would be some obvious jealousy around, but Bob loved his half brother and was ever ready to help Ritchie succeed in his career.

I'm already shedding tears as I type this, listening to his music too, 'Come on, let's go', 'La Bamba ', 'We Belong Together ' and 'Donna '. Please watch it, and I bet you, you'll love him.

May his soul rest in peace, and we love you, Ritchie Valens.
