Friends Are More Important Than Money: The 2016 Manifesto Of The MDAM Blog

Good morning, guys. Hey! It’s the first Monday of the year, 2016. I guess you are all going back to work or school or somewhere else.
Anyway, how is your New Year? Are you feeling sweet sixteen like me? I mean, it’s 2016, guys! This is the year you should feel sweet sixteen. If your 16 year old life was a mess, this is the time for you to correct mistakes and live your good life, you know.
Some of you have made New Year resolutions and, I would like to say, all the best with that. I have stop making New Year resolutions, but rather I make goals, or should I say, bucket lists.
Last year before it ended, I wrote a manifesto to live a good life, or a better one, so I had ideas from my journals and my little red bag.

Yeah, that little red bag.
So, I present to you, the 2016 Manifesto of the MDAM Blog, with the theme, Friends Are More Important Than Money.

Walk more.
Embrace the beach
Capture the memories
Write BIG

Smile more
Trust in God
Believe in yourself
Save money
Get outdoors more
Dream BIG
Read, read and read
Be fit for life

Make a new friend
Listen more, speak less

Be grateful for everything, even trials

Health and Fitness Plans

Hi lovely darlings! How is your day going? I am doing some adjustments. Classes have started, you know.
All right, sooooo, ermm.....Yes! Today is about health and fitness plans and when I say health and fitness plans, I mean, how to put your health in order, how to stay fit during the school year, how to stay alive with the beach. Oops! Forget the last sentence. I think I have to cross out that.

.........how to stay alive with the beach.

Crossed out! Yeah.

Speaking of beaches, have you visited one recently?

As a tertiary institution student, we get very very very busy, we forget about keeping fit. And funnily enough, we do not forget about our social life (hmph. Yeah, right!). PLEASE change! Your health is very important!
Ok, so now moving on to health and fitness plans, let's talk about how to stay fit and healthy and active and fabulous and....and.....

1. Workout in the morning.

Waking up early adds credit to your life. Trust me. We always cry for 30 hours a day (which I think is a bad idea, though I support a day between Saturday and Sunday). Waking up an hour earlier would give you extra time. Wake up early, workout, at least 10 minutes and you will feel alive to kick the day's challenges.

2. Water should be your friend

Darlings, a tip for you. As soon as you wake up, drink water. I did not say sip water, I meant, DRINK!  GULP! water. I know it's hard, I'm still struggling with that one, but studies says it cleanses your system. Apart from the early morning therapy, frequently drink water to prevent dehydration. Have water in your bag when you go to class.

3. Walk. Walk. Walk
Some people dread walking (I exempt people who have health problems with walking). Walking to class, to the market, is good for your health. Walking is great. Ditch the bus, taxi, car and walk.

4. Eat healthy meals.

Plan to buy healthy ingredients to cook healthy meals that are high in iron and vitamins.

5. Smile.
It's that simple.
And think positively! Do not worry, reduce stress, have fun and also do good!

By the way, what's your favourite workout?

Long Vac Bucket List Update +Closing The Long Vac Doors

School is almost back in session. Meaning:

Back to school sales and shopping
Back to school promotion
Back to school money transfer
And aaallll that!

I had a great time this long vac. It was relaxing and adventurous. There were road trips, DIYs, fulfilling personal goals etc. Though I did not go out much, at least I had quality me-time .

I fulfilled almost 80% of my long vac bucket list. The major one I did not fulfill was featuring on Writers Project on Citi FM and doing my internship (attachment). I realize I needed some rest, some break, some time alone. I did a bit of everything I listed and the personal ones I did not blog about.

So, we are slowly closing the long vac doors. Some schools reopen this month, others next month.
Goodbye Long vacation, I've known you for almost 3 months. It's time for me to go back to my other babe; school.

See you on that side which we call school.

Happy 2015!!!!

Happy New Year, sweethearts!

I'm not asleep yet. It's almost 4, yeah I know. There's so much fun around, I just can't sleep. Anyway, there's this festival going on in Winneba. I'm not sure whether I'll attend, but let's see.

The last but one Sunday before Christmas, a brother of mine at church, gave a talk and his title was Spiritual Target. This year, I want to focus on my spiritual life more. Even though I have set 101 goals to be fulfilled in 1001 days, I have 3 main goals to fulfill before 2015 ends.

  • To find inner peace
  •  To develop the qualities of a good woman
  •  To be strong and healthy

Anyway, Happy New Year and let's toss to the new year!

 Stay sweet!

Lessons I learnt In 2014

Everybody learns something every time and though this year have been very tough, I learnt some lessons. I remember, I wrote in my creative journal of ideas and I quote
"It's a new year and everyone says he feels that this year is going to be great, despite the hard economy. Well, I won't say I don't agree."
Yikes, was it true? Was the year great? Nah, very tough for me. This is what I learnt this year, 2014.

  •  I learnt how to let go. After an annoying, shocking and painful bad phase, I felt depressed for the rest of the year. After writing this poem, crying and throwing past lives into the sea, I decided to let go and leave everything to God. I know my Heavenly Father will comfort me and give me a better life ahead.
  • Don't have so many plans/goals at once. Take them a little at a time or a batch at a time. Making a whole lots of goals in a very short time is unrealistic.

  •  Pride is a killer. It gives you hypertension. I met some people who were so proud of their intelligence, riches and status in life and make you feel so inferior. Do not listen to them. Do not mind them. I believe in humility and humility is a ring I want to learn to wear.
Tomorrow God willing is New Year's  Eve. What are your plans and oh, what did you learn in the year,2014???

Auld Lang Syne!!!!

Activating Back To School Mode

*pressing some brain buttons*
Activating Back To School Mode
Loading.......Processing.......(which would take a while)

The Long Vac is over(I still can't accept that fact) and I'm about to set off.....to school (I wish I would set off for another reason. Maybe, visiting a place on my wanderlust pinterest board, but anyway, what can I do? It's time for me to go to school.

New school year is just like the New Year, but this one is for those going back to school. It's full of resolutions and shopping and a whole lot of self preparation in it. I personally have goals for the new academic year.

  • Have a better calendar system for time management. I'm very good at planning for the day, week, month but I'm very bad at time management. So, this year, I plan on working on my time management.
  • Work at the school's radio station. I had this dream after I completed secondary school and since I was a guest on Citi Fm, I had the desire to try it. Maybe, I can do my own show there.
  • Blog about Winneba life and school life.
  • Visit the beach often. The beach is a refreshing place to de-stress and get inspiration.
  • Reward myself after a good work done. I deserve a chocolate or ice cream after a hard day's work, right?
All right. That's it. What are your new school year resolutions? Share on twitter with the hashtag #back2schoolwithnoel
