The Miracle Morning Review + My UPDATED Morning Routine

{Source)

Hello world!

I know! I have been MIA since December, but do not worry, I am fully back to work. So much went on in the last couple of weeks, and that is how life is. There will be ups and downs.

So, I am back.

I just finished reading The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod and after reading it, I realized mornings are taken for granted. Yes. A lot of things can be done in the mornings which can help us have a great day ahead.

Reading this book has made me improve upon my morning routine. I do have a morning routine, but reading this book has helped me improve upon it.

I had heard so much of this book, I did not know where to get it, so I asked a bookworm, Nesta whether he had it and he “lend” it to me. Thank you Nesta!

The beginning of the book was quite tragic. Reading about an accident that happened, and how bad it was. It might make you want to stop reading, honestly. Reading it further made me realize, life is a big painful thing we are all passing through. The author of the book went through certain things that made life seem cruel.

Apart from that, this book was easy to understand, interactive and easy to follow. Most reviews were talking about the writing being so cringe worthy, but I liked it. He wrote it like he was talking to you one on one, and I think that is what we all need.

The book gives you easy step by step ways we can make our mornings exciting, fresh and fun. I recommend this book to everyone.

I give this book 4 out 5 stars.

Now unto my morning routine…

I have made some changes to it. I am currently trying to live life more fully. Not just by going places and having fun, but also, adapting habits that will make me happy, that will help me get closer to my dream life.

Since my alarm goes off at 4:44am, I will extend it to 4am, so that I can enjoy the miracle morning to the fullest. A few new things I would be adding are:

5 minute silence
Affirmations
Visualization

These are the few new things that I would be adding to my morning routine.

If you are finding ways of trying to have a perfect morning even if you are not a morning person, I recommend reading The Miracle Morning.

Let’s Chat: What do you dread most about mornings? What do you think about the book if you have read it? What would you like your mornings to be like?

The Dawn That Brings The Morning (Blogtober Day 7)

Hello world!

Image Map
Would you like to wake up after sunrise or wake up before sunrise?

I think I prefer the latter.

Early mornings are a blessing. You can literally sit still to hear sounds from far away distances. That's so cool. Sorry to all the "I'm not a morning person" people. You are totally missing it, believe me.

The calm. The air. The church bell ringing. The beauty of the peace and quiet before the storm. (Read storm = struggles of the day). Why would you miss this moment?

The dawn that brings the morning is the quiet time to reflect plan, and enjoy life as it's at peace. The crowing of the cocks to warn you of the hustle ahead. Enjoying a mug of beverage while the weather is chilly (in terms of Harmattan morning and rainy days). Listening to cool music of serene blessings.

The moaning of children dreading to wake up, annoyed at the fact that their sleep is over, πŸ˜ƒ the smell of freshly baked bread and the aroma of the fried eggs.

The writing of poetry, the reading of books that should bring peace. The songs of Jim Reeves playing on the radio πŸ“»

These and many more come with the dawn that brings the morning.

Let's Chat: What do you love/hate about the dawn?

I’m trying to love Mondays

Dear Monday,

I have a love-hate relationship with you. Did you know that? I love you because, you’re like a fresh page for me to make things right. I hate you because you can be very exhausting, and full of pressure. It gets annoying sometimes. I love you because my mind is refreshed from weekend fun and relaxation. I hate you because your alarm clock sounds different and really scares me.

The streets are all full of moving beings and to talk of traffic—ahh, I cannot contain it. I use the moment in the public transport to catch up on social media. Gosh, that makes me miss the weekend more. Friends post pictures on social media about their weekend. It makes me want to cry mpo. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, I miss you guys.

Sundays are the shorter days. I bet you still some hours from Sunday, don’t you Monday? You are having some Sunday Funday, there noor, darkness falls. Aden, bra?

Do you know what makes me miss the weekend more? When I go to school or work and I am asked how my weekend went. Even if I did not have fun, it makes me miss the Friday night feels on my bed. The chillaxing and hugging of the pillows, that was so amazing.

But don’t worry Mondays. You have some good in you. It’s the day of fresh start.

My Morning in a Short Story

Hello world!

Tuesday morning was something else for me. I’m a morning person but that morning made me feel like Morning has come earlier than usual.

This is my morning in a short story.

Stares at the ceiling
Stares at the ceiling
Still staring at the ceiling…..
What the heck.
It’s morning already? Oh shoot.
Oh please tell me it’s Friday…..Nah, it’s just Tuesday.
Hmmm. Bummer.
The gates of the store across the road clicks and clacks as the shopkeeper opens it ready to start her day.
She closes her eyes and muttered some words. That was supposed to be a prayer.
She snapped out of it, then slowly spoke, pondering on things she should be grateful for, then committed the day into the Most High’s hands, and everything and everyone else.
Time to visit the world of social media. First, WhatsApp. A few friends to check up on. The male friends ask the usual question.
Gm. How was ur nite???
Next; Instagram, Twitter.
Facebook is for the late hours of the morning.
She opened her laptop and chose the shortest workout video. The shortest is 5 minutes long, even with that, she does not go pass 3 minutes.
Hashtag 21st century girl problems.
Don’t worry, I’ll do the full workout tomorrow, she thought.
Chores time. Music is playing in the background. She sings along, knowing that her family members are used to her voice.
She drags herself to the bathroom to perform the daily hygienic routine. Staring absently at the mirror, she wondered why that thing like a pimple cannot seem to disappear.
The bathroom is a wonderful place to turn yourself into a famous singer performing in front of the mirror, who is your audience.
The mirror really sees things.
Her eyes looked funny that morning. She looked tired. Ah! She remembered. She slept way too late the night before.
Hmmmm. The life of a blogger.
What was she even blogging about?
She brushed that away and performed her skin care routine. Something can be done to make her look refreshed.
Makeup! But gosh, she had nowhere to go, so why makeup?
Oh forget it! She was hungry. The most beautiful journey to embark on when you are at home is a trip to the kitchen.
Opens one saucepan. Nope
Opens another saucepan. Not interested.
Opens another. She sighs sadly. She gave up.
She opened the first saucepan again. She sighed again. She cannot have anything better. She glanced at the clock. It was a few minutes pass 9am.
She went back to her room to open her planner. Hmmm, she thought.
The worst thing was, she forgot to have her personal morning devotion.
The End.
